donna wilson, designer from uk

donna wilson is one of the uk’s
most notable young designers.
she has produced work that ranges from
colourful knitted textiles
to characterful furniture designs.
inspired by her childhood growing up
in the scottish countryside,
donna opened her studio in 2003 and now produces
hand made products that she sells
to independent retailers all around the world.
this post is dedicated two a couple of friend of mine (mat&sarah),
'cause i know they appreciate her work a lot!

alex mcleod, 3d artist from canada.

alex uses a number of 3D programs,
three or four in total for each artwork.
some programs are good for sculpting,
some for fluid simulation others for rendering.
he believes that it is possible to achieve similar results
with many of the leading software manufacturers releases.

mcleod is working part-time in museums
and as a free lance 3D graphic designer.
his 3D artworks are pretty romantic,
i like them so much!
his first solo exhibition will take place in
the switch contemporary gallery,
until 5 july 2009.

kalimera, holistic communication from italy.

kalimera is a communication agency, making
graphic art, video, multimedia and interior design.
they'r based in reggio emilia, italy.

it's a team of people who share the idea that communication
is not subdivisible into watertight compartments,
that's why they work on different layers.
everytime they do something,
the result is beautiful, fresh, young,
memorable, let me say.
i'll let u appreciate some extracts of their work,
but i suggest u to go straight on their website.
Up to September the 30th
there's an exibitions in their city, reggio emilia:
it's a tactile experience, have a look.

milan, the city of design. omaggio al fuori salone.

max tests every kind of chair.
nice people all around: roberta is the first!
foscarini takes you into a kaleidoscope
and you feel like a baby watching something for the first time.
superstudiopiù is simply a perfect location: mooi is my favourite.
richard ginori makes you feel sorry to be born too late. better the thirties.
fabio novembre keeps you in touch
with darkness, red flowers, drowings and thoughts about life, war, spaces.
he's quite a genius. even davide appreciates a lot.

---------------------------------------------------
i can say it's the first time i'm so proud to be not only italian, but milanese.
this is the best "fuori salone" of all.
probabily not anyone knows that every year in milan there's such an amazing melting pot week
where fashion, design, architecture, nice international faces are mixed up.
i felt into that and i wanna show you some picts.
they'r taken by my i-phone,
they'r not so cool but i hope they will show milan enough,
during these crazy and inspiring days.
